One of these ways is a tendency to think for
ourselves, to make up our own minds -- to not simply trust in the
belief system of our parents our politicians. Of course we still do
these things, often in ways we don't recognize. But the point is, we
no longer believe we should do so. We tend to believe it is our
responsibility to ask questions, to evaluate, and to make our own choices.
In a related vein, we are also more open to new
ideas in our spirituality. Even when we follow traditional religions
(Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, Taoism) they are not
necessarily the same religions that our parents practiced.
