    A weekly online news magazine for educators and others " interested in education reform, schools, and the policies that guide them." Seems especially aimed at teachers of K-12 students. Latest news on test standards, student behavior issues, political happenings, etc. Very polished and informative.

     

    NAEYC Online

      National Association For The Education Of Young Children home page. Information on membership, public policy issues and news, professional development, and issues for parents as well as teachers and caregivers. Also look here to find out about NAEYC accreditation and upcoming conferences.

      The NAEYC online catalog offers books, brochures, posters, and videos to educate parents and teachers.

      Young Children is their online magazine, devoted to issues in early childhood education.

       

    NEA

      The National Education Association online. Information on a broad spectrum of topics -- health, legislation grants, teacher's salaries, how to work well with parents, plus helpful tips for teachers. Also contains G.E.M. -- Gateway to Educational Materials.

       

    National Education Service

      Home page of the N.E.S. -- dedicated to providing resources to help those who work with youth create safe and caring schools, agencies, and communities where all children succeed. Check their Resources section for great publications about increasing student achievement, integrating technology, teaching respect and responsibility, as well as dealing with racism, violence, and drugs.

      Site includes excellant articles from their journal "Reaching Our Youth", as well as conferance information, professional development, and a message board.

    U.S. Dept. of Education

      A comprehensive and informative site on the field of education -- including info on funding, publications, programs & services, and of course lots of informative articles on a wide range of issues in the teaching field.

      Parents and teens may want to check on the info. on scholarships and financial aide. A public school and district locator is also here.

Note: only the info is offered online -- not the classes!
