The
teachings in the passage that begins "Ye are the light of the
world" reminds us that there is something greater than the small
self -- something more than the body that you see when you look in
the mirror, than the thoughts you hear in your mind.
This teaching encourages us to remember that there is something
greater -- a power, an intelligence, a presence -- that can guide us,
strengthen us, and teach us, so that all that we might do, we might
do greater.
We
can accomplish so much more,
calling upon that presence, than we can by our own human power alone.
Therefore, the light within us can shine so much more brightly, when
we let in that greater light, which is the divine self.
(Otherwise
known as: Great Spirit, God, Tao, Brahman, Allah, All That Is, and
so on -- that Great Self, of which each one of us is but a part.)
The
teaching says: let the light within you shine so brightly, that
others around you will also feel inspired. And, so that they will
remember that Great Self, that divine light, of which they too are
part, and can call on for help, for guidance, and for love, forgiveness.
May
all remember their connection
to
the Light of divine self.
