Fauna (animal life):
American Saltwater Crocodile
This is "Bob". We saw him in Disney World's Frontierland. He spends so much time hanging out scavenging scraps from the roast turkey leg stand that the workers gave him a name. These guys are really rare. They live on hummocks -- the little islands of hardwood trees that dot the Everglades. Crocodylus acutus
More rare -- and possibly more dangerous -- than it's cousin the alligator. (Photo by Prof. Harry Messel)
We saw a lot of these in Key Largo.
