OTHER KINDS OF PETS
While most people have one of the pets
listed above... there are some people who have different kinds
of pets. Kids on a farm might have a pet chicken, goat, or
lamb. Kids in other parts of the world might have a
donkey, camel, or even a llama. Sometimes people
even have exotic pets like a monkey, tiger, or bear.
But please remember, wild animals belong in the wild. No
one should have an exotic animal as a pet -- unless that person
is a highly trained animal specialist... and the animal is a
rescued animal that is unable to live in the wild (because it
was badly injured, or rescued from a circus, etc.).
Pet
Monkey Info.
Most people who love monkeys just go to the zoo! But then again, most
monkeys are wild animals living free out in nature; and at Earth's Kids
we believe wild animals should get to remain wild. But in
some cultures pet monkeys are quite common, and a fierce trade exists in
capturing and/or raising monkeys to sell as pets. And if baby
monkeys or apes are raised in human homes, they may not have what it
takes to make it on their own in the wild.
So if you have somehow become the caretaker of one of these
unfortunate little guys, or you know someone who is, or ...if
you'd just like to imagine what it would be like to have your own pet
monkey... click on the link above to find out all about it.
